Lahnor A Adjei
Lahnor A. Adjei was born 1971 in Nürnberg/Germany and, being half Ghanaian and half German, he attended the primary school in Accra/Ghana.
In Germany he started his musical education by the age of ten. Later he continued his musical training with trumpet, cello and french horn. After schooling he studied economics at the University of Nürnberg and music at the School of Music in Mannheim. There he completed his degree on french horn with Prof. C. Crespo and conducting with Prof. K. Eisenmann.
During his studies he took lessons with Prof. Helmut Rilling (music director of the Bach-Academy Stuttgart), Karl Friedrich Beringer (music director of the boys choir Windsbacher Knabenchor), Philippe Auguin (music director of the State Opera Nürnberg), Kwamè Ryan (music director of the City Opera Freiburg), Markus Bosch (music director of the State Opera Saarbrücken) and others. At the same time he conducted a couple of well known orchestras such as Nürnberg Symphonic Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Mannheim.
Since 2002 Lahnor A. Adjei has been appointed as music director of the National Theatre and conducter of the National Symphony Orchestra in Ghana, where he is intending to enhance and encourage african classical music as well as european classical music. In the meantime he established his own Symphonic Orchestra in Germany the Young Cinema Sound Orchestra, wich is specialized on film music (www.ycs-orchestra.de).
Furthermore he has the conductorship of a brass ensemble called Blech10 (www.blech10.de) and is teaching french horn and conducting at the school of music in Waghäusel/Germany.
